Subject: DD-3 DIAPHRAGM/SEPARATOR ASSEMBLY, G.M.C.

BUSES

G.M.C. “121” buses utilize a dual circuit braking system which features a unique

“demonstrated park” parking brake system.

The DD-3 Actuators used in this system require a special service diaphragm/separator

assembly in which the diaphragm is riveted to the separator.

This special diaphragm/separator assembly is available either separately as piece

number 288729 or in Kit No. 265070 which consists of 288729 diaphragm/separator

assembly and 246675 auxiliary diaphragm.

DD-3 Actuators on vehicles other than “121” GMC buses can be serviced with 246371

service diaphragm, 246363 separator and 246675 auxiliary diaphragm, or with kit

265064 which contains all three parts.

Even though some earlier “121” GMC buses did not use the riveted

diaphragm/separator, all “121” GMC actuators should be serviced with the riveted

diaphragm/separator assembly.
