With the fleet requiring and using extended service brake systems, the traditional cam and

bushing are failing before the extended service brake lining wears out. The use of a cam enclosure

extends the life of the camshaft and its related components to match the life of the extended service

brake lining.

All cam enclosures from Spicer are designed to offer superior bearing surfaces for the camshaft.

The oil-impregnated bushings are standard and are superior to the soft steel bearing surfaces. The

oil-impregnated design reduces wear and increases the life of the camshaft.

Features and Benefits of Spicer Camshaft Enclosures:

Oil-Impregnated Bushing – reduces wear on the camshaft due to galling.

Enclosure Holds A Large Amount of Grease – that can flow more easily to the bearing sur-

faces, thus extend the life of the camshaft journal and bushings.

Grease Filled Enclosure – extends your maintenance intervals and reduces the likelihood of

premature failure from contamination.

Centrally Located Grease Fitting – makes it easier to lube and improves serviceability
