Subject: Obsolescence of Cummins (Holset) Changeover Kits

Pc. Nos. 260684, 260685, 260686, 260687

To improve changeover flexibility, Bendix will no longer be offering the complete

Cummins (Holset) to Bendix compressor changeover kits, Pc. Nos. 260684, 260685,

260686 and 260687. Rather than the complete changeover kit, which included a

hardware kit and compressor, Bendix will now offer the hardware kit alone. By

obsoleting the complete changeover kits and offering the hardware kits, Cummins

(Holset) changeovers are no longer restricted to replacement with either the Tu-Flo 500

or 501.

When changing over from a Cummins (Holset) compressor to a Bendix, all that is

necessary is to use the appropriate Hardware Kit and the desired Bendix compressor.

The following chart may be of assistance in selecting the correct part numbers.

** In some cases it may be necessary to use the Inlet Regulating Valve, part

number 104171, with the Tu-Flo 700 compressor in order to stay within the

maximum turbo charger pressure recommendation for this compressor. See

Bendix Product Bulletin PRO-01-26 for additional particulars.

The reason that a single part number for the Tu-Flo 550, 700, and 750 compressors is

shown is that these compressors incorporate both side and top discharge porting in the

cylinder head.

The information contained on this bulletin should be marked on Catalog Pages 01-CM-3

and 01-CM-4. Please note that the “Competitive Core Allowances” vary by compressor

type.
