Subject: Tu-Flo 501 Crankshaft 246464

The subject crankshaft is used in Detroit Diesel compressors. The crankshaft nut on

these compressors should be carefully torqued to avoid loosening of the coupling;

however, care should be taken to avoid over-torquing.

The castellated nut should be torqued by hand to 100 ft. lbs. If it is not possible to line

up the cotter pin holes without exceeding 150 ft. lbs., the nut should be removed and

another nut used.
